Nevada resident insurance producers must complete 30 hours of approved continuing education within the three-year period before the date of renewal, and three of those hours must be in ethics. Nevada licensees may only take courses approved in the lines of authority they actually hold, so course category matters as much as hour count.

Under NAC 683A.330 a producer holding a CPCU, CLU, CIC, CFP, or ChFC designation, or with 20 or more years of continuous insurance experience where insurance is the primary source of income, may qualify for an exemption. An exemption form is required — the exemption is not automatic.
